Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 12, 2026

Provata (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides classic and collector vehicle appraisal services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect the information you provide when using our website and services.

By using Provata, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information. Your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address when you create an account.
  • Vehicle information. Details about the vehicles you submit for appraisal, including year, make, model, VIN, mileage, condition, modifications, title status, ownership history, and service records.
  • Photographs. Images of your vehicle that you upload for appraisal purposes, including their embedded metadata (date taken, device information).
  • Appraisal responses. Your answers to condition questions, known issues, enhancements, and any notes you provide.
  • Payment information. When payment processing is active, billing details are handled by our payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
  • Usage information. Basic technical data such as browser type, device type, IP address, and pages visited, collected automatically when you use the site.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Produce and deliver your vehicle appraisal reports
  • Verify the authenticity and condition of vehicles we appraise
  • Contact you about your appraisal or account
  • Improve the accuracy and quality of our appraisal methodology
  • Respond to your requests for support
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues
  • Comply with legal obligations

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

  • With your permission. When you share a verification code from your appraisal report, the recipient (such as an insurance underwriter) can verify that the report is authentic.
  • With service providers. We use trusted third-party service providers to host our site, process payments, send transactional emails, and support appraisal research. These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and may only use your information to provide services to us.
  • For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Provata, our users, or others.
  • In connection with a business transfer. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Verification Codes

Each certified appraisal report includes a unique verification code. Anyone with that code can access a confirmation page showing the report's authenticity, vehicle description, and issue date. The verification page does not expose your personal contact information or financial details. You control who receives the verification code.

Data Retention

We retain appraisal records indefinitely unless you request deletion, because certified appraisals may be referenced by insurers, buyers, or courts years after they are issued. Account information is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at appraisals@provata.ai. Some information may be retained for legitimate business purposes (such as accounting or legal compliance) even after deletion.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and authenticated storage. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information (subject to legal and business retention requirements)
  • Opt out of certain uses of your information
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at appraisals@provata.ai.

Children's Privacy

Provata is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

International Users

Provata is operated from North America. If you access the service from outside this region, your information will be transferred to and processed in North America, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised “last updated” date. Your continued use of Provata after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
